Projecto Miño: diálogos intertextuales, discurso identitario y políticas culturales

Abstract

Jazz in Galicia during the last two decades of the 20th century had a particular development influenced by the cultural idiosyncrasy itself and the assimilation of some specific musical features which it shared spaces. This article explores the hybrid and intertextual
elements of Projecto Miño, by the double bass player and composer Baldo Martínez, in order to highlight the political and identity aspects involved in its conceptualisation and performance. Moreover, the article analyses the elements related to the music itself,
and the infl uences, contacts and dialogues established within the album, as well as the socio-political framework.
