The purpose of the present study is to fill the existing bibliographic silence concerning the history and legacy of Madrid's Club de Música y Jazz San Juan Evangelista, as a unique manifestation of a way of understanding jazz centered on democratic and egalitarian values. In that sense, the author has chosen to combine the necessary scientific rigor with a more relaxed or informative tone.
