Abstract

This article contextualizes the open-air festival Nits amb Jazz (Jazz Nights) of Cardedeu (1971-1981) in the cultural, political and social transformations that took place during the late francoist regime and the Spanish transition. Additionally, its role in the evolution of Catalan and Spanish jazz at that time is shown, as well as in the creation of a local jazz scene.
